Jessie Curl

Program Specialist

Jessie Curl joined Lake Champlain Sea Grant in February 2026. In her role, she supports communications for Lake Champlain Sea Grant, ecoNEWS Vermont, the Vermont Water Resources and Lake Studies Center, and the Northeastern States Research Cooperative. Her work includes managing websites, producing outreach materials, coordinating social media and newsletters, and responding to press inquiries. She also oversees both local and national fellowship programs offered through Lake Champlain Sea Grant.

Jessie’s master’s research used paleo-limnological techniques to evaluate the ecological history of the Weeks Bay Estuary in south Alabama. Before joining Lake Champlain Sea Grant, she worked at the Auburn University Water Resources Center, where she led a statewide Extension program for private well users and coordinated the annual Alabama Water Resources Conference.

Outside of work, Jessie enjoys birding, road biking, and crafting. She loves being outdoors and is looking forward to exploring Vermont’s natural beauty!
